100 words: Selling Out

I saw my ex on a commercial.
It took this short, sharp shock to wake me from my complacency. Just reading or talking about concepts does not make them real. The only reality of conceptual awareness, especially an ideology, is in practice. Saying you're against something, be it fast food, cigarette companies, Madison Avenue, or whatever, only counts if you are willing to back up your ideas with action. You stop going to McDonald’s, quit smoking, and never do commercials. Especially for money. That is the ultimate way of selling your soul. And it’s really depressing that some still do.
